Our process

Exploration

We start our process by listening to you–we want to know every wish you have for your new home. We will take time to sketch and refine your ideas to create a preliminary design that is feasible while maintaining our commitment to sustainability. In this phase, we will also evaluate the size and shape of the design to give you a preliminary budget range.  

Design

Once we get the green light to move forward with the preliminary design, we will get our permitting documents in order and start the design process. You will have a designated lead designer who will stay with you throughout the process. Regular check-ins will allow you to be part of every decision made about your design and ensure you know what you’re getting and what you’re getting into.  

Once the design is ready, we will share your budget and have a construction agreement ready to sign, along with estimated project timelines. Throughout construction, you will have a point person both onsite and in the office to keep you updated on the progress of your home. You will have regular check-ins with your point person and regular meetings with the team, all to make sure everyone is on board with each step of the construction process.

We stand by our work and will be here for you even after construction. Once your project has reached substantial completion, we will provide you with an operations and maintenance manual, along with details on what makes your design green. As we finish up the final details, we will make sure you have the resources and information you need before leaving you with your custom-designed home.
